Due to its impressive canal network & 19th century cotton mills, Manchester City Centre is now on a proposed list of unesco world heritage sites. However, plenty of these mills have now been converted into offices and flats.
These days, manchester has remained really proud of its industrial heritage. however, its become a thriving, futuristic city that is widely known as the capital of the north west.
There’s loads of stuff to do in Manchester, including many museums and art galleries. sometimes of the finest are URBIS, the police museum and the Whitworth Art Gallery.
The Whitworth art gallery has a large permanent collection of work, which include art by artists such as Picasso, Paul Klee and David Hockney. as well as this, the gallery also has many touring exhibitions.
